Most people would pay anything for a course in miracles. What they do not realize though, is that miracles are based upon the real principles of spiritual magnetism.

It is not by mere fate, coincidence or happenstance that miracles happen. It is by divine intervention. It is by a set of spiritual principles which both guide and impact upon people in either a positive or negative fashion. Essentially, that what one thinks and feels and how one acts and behaves, actually influences and attracts future providence. In this manner, then, one can also influence divine miracles.

What is Spiritual Magnetism?

In Western religions it is known as spiritual magnetism, the degree of relationship with God. The mystical arms of the Islam, Christian, and Jewish traditions explain the transformation that one must undergo to achieve spiritual magnetism. This includes renunciation, reliance upon a spiritual teacher, devotion, study, prayer, fasting, and meditation or contemplation.

Miracles can and do happen. Thousands have reported that after they have turned to God they received physical healings, recovery from addictions, gifts of jobs, prosperity or help with family or personal problems, and conversion and spiritual healings. These are responses to requests which are beyond ordinary or even scientifically impossible. They are great graces lovingly bestowed upon man.

The Basic Spiritual Principles

Miracles are related to the degree of spiritual magnetism one enjoys. Here, then, are the basic spiritual principles to strive for in order to ask for a miracle in your life – for self or another.

First, believe it can happen. There are hundreds of books filled with stories of miracles, of supernatural phenomena that defied scientific explanation. These stories have one common denominator. They were are all based upon faith. The stronger the faith, the greater likelihood of the miracle being granted. Jesus said, “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:19-20.)

Second, do not try to contradict the will of God and be careful not to “bend” it, but remember, “His will be done.” In this way, a miracle is more likely to happen if one’s request is also consistent with the direct will of God.

The third spiritual principle is that prayer and fasting are “amplifiers” for miracles. Before starting His ministry to defeat evil, Jesus fasted for 40 days. Prayer and fasting brings grace. Prayer and fasting brings healing. Prayer and fasting is the muscle behind the desire. At one point, the Blessed Mother Mary said that through prayer and fasting, families can withstand the attacks of satan (The Visions of the Children, Janice T. Connell.) The Blessed Mother also said, “You have forgotten that through prayer and fasting you can avert war and suspend the laws of nature” (Marian Apparitions and Prophesies, Robert A. Nelson, 2000.)

The fourth principle is to persevere and be persistent until you receive your answered prayer. Do not be discouraged "for nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37.)God hears, and at times he gives us answers different from what we expect. At other times the miracles come when we least expect them. One woman prayed for her son for twenty years. He did convert from his self-destructive and evil ways, but it took years of prayers and fasting before this was accomplished.

The fifth principle is to always give thanks. Show gratitude for God hearing the prayer, even if the miracle was not granted. Always show gratitude.

Be Confident in Your Request

One minister said it plainly: miracles are in direct response to the degree of man’s holiness and sanctity. The deeper and more personal an individual’s relationship is with God, the more abundantly the graces and greater the miracle. God will always hear, but the greater the consistency with His commandments and holiness in His ways, the greater will be His response in miracles. After all, Jesus said it Himself, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you…. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:23-24.)
