A young man in Blanco, Texas recently reported he killed a chupacabra in his barn. Pictures and a video show what the monster looks like.
The legend of the chupacabra, the mythical beast, has risen to new heights. A man in Blanco, Texas claims he captured and killed a chupacabra, or "goat sucker," as they are also called. Capture of the ChupacabraJerry Ayers, a taxidermist, reported in a CNN video that a student of his caught the chupacabra. Ayers says his student placed rat poison in a cousin’s barn when an unidentified creature was killing some of the animals. What they found in the barn surprised them. The creature is gray, with very little hair, and with leathery skin. It has long sharp teeth, and long skinny legs. The legs are longer than would be expected on a wolf, coyote, or other canine. The creature looks very much like a wild dog. Ayers says he will preserve the body of the legendary creature for others to view and study. He states in the chupacabra video that it is too interesting to let it go without preserving it for posterity. The Legend of the ChupacabraThe chupacabra legend reportedly began in the 1970s when farm animals were being attacked in Puerto Rico. The animals were left with puncture marks on their bodies, mutilated, and bled to death, but not eaten. Hence, the name "blood sucker" or "goat sucker" was given to the unknown creature. As the years passed, more and more sightings occurred, many people claiming to have had encounters with the legendary chupacabra. But, like the stuff of most legends, there were no reliable pictures of the monsters or chupacabra videos, and no evidence other than the stories. Reported sightings by residents of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, and the Desert Southwest of the United States, described the creature as having gray and leathery skin and sharp fangs. As the legend has grown, so have the descriptions. Some say the chupacabra has glowing red eyes. Others say it can change color like a chameleon and can fly like a bat. Some even say the sound of its hissing can induce nausea. Is the Chupacabra Real or a Hoax? All legends have their advocates and their detractors. In the case of the chupacabra, some of the believers are constantly looking for evidence. However, as in the cases of Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, none of the evidence has been concrete. Grainy photographs, hazy videos, and accusations of untruthfulness riddle the stories. The CNN video of the chupacabra shows clear and graphic footage of a creature. But is this new monster found in a Blanco, Texas barn the real chupacabra? Or is it case of mistaken identity? Only time will tell, as the story will certainly be investigated further.
